The principle of all production systems is fighting against losses. Waste is any activity that consumes resources but does not add value to the product. These are mistakes to be corrected. This is performance of actions that could be easily avoided. It is required not just to eliminate, but also prevent further occurrence and expansion of waste.

A priority objective of any advanced company management is to identify and reduce waste and optimise the process, as this is the basis of successful business.
