Aluminium shingles

scrodown

The traditional materials for shingles used in private houses and cottages are ceramics, cement and sand mixes, polymer sand mixes, bitumen and steel, with the materials being different in price and service life.

Meanwhile, aluminium shingles represent another viable option for residential housing construction, seeing how they offer some indisputable competitive advantages. These include:

  • High strength per unit of area;
  • Light weight: aluminium shingles are relatively lightweight, which means that your roof does not need reinforced struts, and no support scaffolding is needed in older structures when repairs are being carried out – this can save some serious money on construction materials;
  • Aluminium shingles can easily withstand sharp changes in temperatures;
  • They offer high corrosion resistance: aluminium is about 25 times more resistant to corrosion than steel;
  • Aluminium can be easily molded and bent into any shape, which allows for roofs to be designed in a variety of complex shapes;
  • On very hot days, an aluminium roof can protect the building against overheating, while on cold winter days, it speeds up the thawing of the snow and prevents the formation of ice.

According to Aluminium Association estimates, the potential market volume for aluminium shingles could be as high as 19,000 tonnes per year.
If you would like to take part in the implementation of this project, please send your proposals to info@aluminas.ru, with the words Aluminium Shingles in the subject.

Current status:
At the moment, preparations are being made in cooperation with a leading manufacturer of aluminium shingles and with the support of a leading manufacturer of aluminium coil to test the production process for extruding painted aluminium tape for the production of shingles.

Prospects:
The results of these experiments will be used to implement all the necessary measures to launch mass production of aluminium shingles in Russia.
