Renaming of Samara Metallurgical Plant

By decision of the owner of Joint Stock Company Arconic SMZ, the company was renamed Joint Stock Company Samara Metallurgical Plant (abbreviated as JSC SMZ).These changes are related to the sale of Arconic's Russian production assets to a new owner, Industrial Investments LLC, which took place in November 2022.

"We are completing a smooth transition of management control to a new shareholder.We changed the name, which was in fact a return to our historical name, updated the logo and corporate identity.The process is now underway to register a new version of the company's Articles of Association with a new name.It is important to note that all these changes will not affect business relations with partners and will not affect SMZ's existing contractual obligations and their fulfilment.The plant continues its production and commercial activities in normal mode with all jobs preserved.We aim to further increase our local presence in all market segments, and our priorities remain unchanged: labour safety and environmental protection, continuity of all production processes and timely provision of customers with quality products", - said Maxim Smirnov, President of SMZ JSC.

Samara Metallurgical Plant is one of the largest producers of aluminium semi-finished products in Russia.Established in 1960, the plant produces a wide range of sheet, press and forging products in all types of aluminium alloys.The plant's production capacities allow creating unique solutions for aviation, space, packaging, construction, machine building and transport industries, making a significant contribution to the economy and social initiatives of the region.The owner of 100% of SMZ shares is OOO Industrial Investments, owned by entrepreneur Mikhail Shelkov.
