Construction of the production site began in 1940, 1942 saw the production facility complete its first casting run and make its first products. May 5, 1944 saw the commissioning of the first stage of the production site. This is now regarded as the official birthday of the Kamensk-Uralsky Metal Production Facility. May 29, 1945 the production site was commissioned in its entirety after being examined by a state commission.

PJSC KUMZ is made up of:

1. A casthouse, the equipment of which can produce:

• slabs and billets up to 15 tonnes in weight from aluminium and all types of aluminium alloys.

2. A blacksmith facility, the equipment of which can produce:

• forgings weighting up to 5000 kg;
• rolled rings weighing up to 3000 kg and measuring up to 4500 mm in diameter and up to 600 mm in height;
• stampings weighing up to 1500 kg with a surface area from 100 cm2 to 12500 cm2.

3. A press shop, the equipment of which can produce:

• rods, pipes and extrusions with an external diameter of up to 540 mm.

4. A rolled products shop, the equipment of which can produce:

• slabs up to 4000 mm wide and 32000 mm long;
• rolls up to 2800 mm wide;
• sheets up to 2800 mm wide and 12000 mm long.

5. Procurement and machining shops which have got a GAR unit, CNC lathing and milling machines capable of five-axis product processing: the company offers rough-machined parts to its customers;

6. The company has got its own tools manufacturing shop, which supplies tools for the press shop and die forging shop.

The target market of PJSC KUMZ comprises aviation and shipbuilding companies, machine engineering companies and the construction sector. PJSC KUMZ has got a well developed chain of distributers, so its products are available all across Russia. PJSC KUMZ offers its products in 46 countries around the world, and has got sales representatives in the US, Europe and China.

The quality management system of PJSC KUMZ is certified for compliance with ISO 9001:2015, AS/EN 9100, rev.D. The certification audit was conducted by Germany's TUF Rhineland certification body, which is confirmed by compliance certificate No 01 117 70340.

The environmental management system and the health and safety management system are certified for compliance with the requirements of international standards ISO 14001: 2015, ISO 45001 by the Russian Register Certification Association, which is confirmed by environmental management compliance certificate No 19.1954.026 and health and safety management compliance certificate No 19.1955.026.

The main production facility of PJSC KUMZ has got compliance certificate No 01.RU.01 .25.2003 issued by the management system certification body LLC VNIICERT.

PJSC KUMZ has been qualified and approved as a supplier by leading aviation companies in Russia and abroad, such as Boeing, Airbus, Bombardier Aerospace, COMAC, Indonesian Aerospace, Snecma, Goodrich (Collins Aerospace).

The production facility has been certified as a manufacturer of semi-finished products from aluminium for ship hulls and ship equipment as per the rules for the classification and building of maritime equipment of the Russian Maritime Shipping Registry, the company has also got a customer-required certificate of recognition as a product manufacturer of the Inspectorate of the River Registry and a product manufacturer as per the DNV GL and ABS rules.
