A round table on "Green" Financing in Russia. Meeting of the Sustainable Development Commission of the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry” was held as part of the business program of the Second International Forum "Aluminium in Architecture and Construction" (AlumForum 2021) with the support of Coca-Cola HBC Russia.
The participants of the event included Irina Danilova, Director of the Treasury Department of the State Atomic Energy Corporation Rosatom; Anastasia Fedotova, Managing Director and Head of the ESG Directorate for Sberbank; Pavel Boev, Head of ESG Banking of the Corporate Business Directorate of Rosbank PJSC; Sergey Sementsov, Green Economy Line Manager, Vnesheconombank Institute ANCO; Tatyana Kovaleva, Senior Director for Sustainable Development Ratings, National Rating Agency; Ilya Kalinin, Manager of the Risk Management Department for Sustainable Development Services at Deloitte Consulting. The round table was moderated by Irina Arkhipova, Head of Business Practice Commission for Sustainable Development Goals at the Russian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Director for External Relations and Communications of Coca-Cola HBC Russia.
During the discussion, the participants discussed the Russian green financing market, business willingness for national green financing system, the need for ESG corporate ratings, the impact made by ESG factors on credit ratings, the role of the banking sector in the development of the responsible financing market and the Russian corporate experience in obtaining "green" financing. In addition, the representatives of the banks got their points across on what hinders the financing of "green" projects, why responsible financing is important and, according to their story, what assistance they have already provided to ESG businesses.
“One of the key financing players is banks because they have financial resources. There are few companies which can attract a large amount of investment. What we can offer to the companies is to finance their projects, reduce their loan rates and provide "green" and social impact bonds. Our clients already include RUSAL and Metalloinvest,” noted Pavel Boev. “It is important to have green financing instruments, this should help transform the wider economy,” summed up Head of ESG Banking of the Corporate Business Directorate of Rosbank PJSC.

The Second International Forum "Aluminium in Architecture and Construction" (AlumForum 2021) was held in the Technopark of the Skolkovo Innovation Center from September 21 to 23. The Forum was founded by the Aluminium Association and organized by the Union of Architects of Russia and the Union of Moscow Architects. The event was held within the framework of the Year of Architecture and Urban Planning in the CIS with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Ministry of Construction, Housing and Utilities of Russia, the Moscow Government, Research and Development Center Construction, the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences, RUSAL and the Union of Glass-Making Enterprises.
