This statement was made by Evgeny Tashlykov, Head of GU TO TULAUPRADOR, at the round table titled Road Construction in Russia: Bridges and Structures, held as part of the business programme of Road 2022, the 10th International Specialised Exhibition and Forum. The Forum was held in Kazan supported by the Ministry of Transport of the Russian Federation. The Federal Road Agency’s Information Centre for Roads (FSBI INFORMAVTODOR) was the operator of the Exhibition and Forum.
During the discussion with bridge-building experts, Evgeny Tashlykov noted that there is a great demand among the Russian regions for the construction of new and the replacement of obsolete small structures from 8 to 24 metres long. In view of these needs, the Head of TU TO TULAUPRADOR has proposed to establish a working group on the basis of the Russian Road Research Institute (FAU ROSDORNII) to develop a document for basic model bridge solutions. The new document will comprise standard designs for bridge structures made of various materials, including aluminium alloy bridges. These bridges are planned to be installed in low-traffic settlements.
Meanwhile, according to the information shared at the round table by Stanislav Tovbin, Deputy Head of the Road Construction Department of the Federal Road Agency (Rosavtodor), 777 bridges, or 51,556 linear metres, are to be built or reconstructed in Russia from 2022 to 2027.
