23.06.2023 – Krasnoyarsk Machine Building Components
Krasnoyarsk Machine Building Components (a member of the Aluminium Association) reported on the successful sale in May of the 900th complete tramway interior since production began.
Each such kit contains 280 unique assemblies using aluminium, comprising a total of over 1,000 parts.
The use of aluminium profiles and sheet metal in the creation of the tramway interior ensures its durability and increased fire safety.
Having started production of equipment for tram vehicles in 2014, Krasnoyarsk Machine Building Components (KMC) reported its first significant result in 2020 - the company delivered 500 sets of interiors. In less than three years after that Krasnoyarsk produced another 400 complete interiors for trams.
The achievement of high production results was made possible thanks to KMP's co-operation with RUSAL and PC Transport Systems (PC TS). KMC uses aluminium profiles supplied by RUSAL to produce interiors, which are then installed in trams produced by PC TS.
The main suppliers of aluminium profiles and semi-finished products for this joint project are Krasnoyarsk Metallurgical Plant (KramZ) and Krasnoyarsk Aluminium Smelter (KrAZ). More than 15 enterprises of the Krasnoyarsk region, as well as other partners, are involved in the production process.
"We started working with trams in 2014 and have since increased the production of complex interiors on them more than tenfold. The volume of 900 interiors produced is equivalent to approximately 24,300 cubic metres of cargo, which was delivered to the assembly plant of the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant in St. Petersburg. In total, more than 216,000 interior components were produced, including ceiling structures, walls, partitions, handrails, transition pad linings, seat brackets and other systems and assemblies," says Alexander Shabaev, General Director of Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Components LLC.
Over 20 years of experience in the design and manufacture of aluminium structures and profile systems, KMC has mastered the production of a number of products demanded by the market. For example, 800mm wide profiles have been introduced.
The company has earned a reputation as a reliable and customer-oriented partner providing quality solutions for transport systems. Trams assembled from Krasnoyarsk components operate on routes in Moscow, St. Petersburg, Tver, Kaliningrad, Krasnodar, Rostov-on-Don, Yekaterinburg, Novosibirsk and other cities.
