ITC 099 Becomes Leader in Interstate Standardisation with Best Results in Efficiency Assessment

The Interstate Technical Committee for Standardisation 'Aluminium' (ITC 099) has become a leader in interstate standardisation with the best results of efficiency assessment.
The Interstate Council for Standardisation, Metrology and Certification (EASC) has identified 16 technical committees with the best performance evaluation results. ITC 99 'Aluminium' made it to the top 16 committees out of 136 active ones. The EASC meeting was attended by the heads of national bodies for standardisation, metrology, certification, and accreditation from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, the Russian Federation, Tajikistan, and Uzbekistan. Also present were representatives of the CIS Executive Committee and the Standards Bureau of the EASC.
The committee established by the Aluminium Association aims to remove regulatory barriers and restrictions that limit the use of aluminium in various industries such as transport, energy, mechanical engineering, construction, and others. The committee also strives to launch new products, improve the efficiency of aluminium standardisation, and update outdated standards for aluminium raw materials, alloys, and products containing aluminium. The Aluminium Association, in cooperation with experts and partners, works to develop interstate standards and programmes aimed at expanding the use of aluminium. It also conducts expert reviews of documents and technical specifications.
'The activities of ITC 099 'Aluminium' are crucial for the entire Russian aluminium industry, ensuring the formation of quality national standards for aluminium and aluminium alloy products. Thanks to the active cooperation with the EASC member countries and industry representatives from all over the CIS, we have been able to introduce modern materials, test methods, and expand the use of aluminium in all sectors,' says Irina Kazovskaya, Chair of the Aluminium Association and Head of ITC 099 'Aluminium'.
