28.03.2022 - Moskabelmet Group
The shortage of materials and imposed sanctions will not have a significant impact on the operation of Moskabelmet, according to the Group of Companies. The Group has been moving towards import substitution for a long time, regularly developing new products, the production of which does not depend on imported components.
Due to the introduced restrictions on supply of foreign raw materials, a high increase is expected in costs of materials for cables with cross-linked polyethylene and ethylene propylene rubber insulation for a voltage of 6-35 kV. This will directly affect the production of cable products and their cost, because high-quality polyethylene is not produced in Russia to the extent necessary for manufacturing power cables – all raw materials are purchased from the EU and the USA.
But Moskabelmet Group has a TEVOX cable developed as part of the import substitution programme. It is analogous to cables with cross-linked polyethylene and ethylene propylene rubber insulation, and even surpasses cables with polymer insulation in a number of other characteristics. Previously, domestic raw materials in this cable accounted for 85%, and now TEVOX consists of 100% domestic materials. The cable with heat-stabilised insulation completely complies with the required characteristics of current loads and permissible core heating temperature.
In 2018, TEVOX was included in the register of Rosseti PJSC and recognised as an innovative development by the fuel and energy complex. In 2019, it became a winner of the All-Russian Contest under the TOP-100 Goods in Russia programme. The product is completely certified and approved for use.
TEVOX cable can be made of copper or aluminium, including the innovative 8xxx series aluminium alloy. And this is a response to another current challenge – rising price of copper at the London Metal Exchange (LME) caused by the growth of the key rate and the dollar exchange rate. The transition from copper to 8xxx series aluminium will reduce costs of projects by up to 50% and, therefore, protect the project budget for a long time.
8xxx series aluminium alloy cable is widely used at residential construction sites of PIK, Glavstroy, Donstroy, Setl Group, A101, Samolet Development and Brusnika. It has a high potential for applying in street lighting (AsVBShv cable), temporary networks (AsKG cable), construction of oil refineries (AsVBShv, AsPPG cables), metro (AsPPG cable), oil and gas sector (AsKG, AsPPG, Cryosil AsRv cables), as well as construction of industrial plants (AsVBShv, AsPPG cables).
In addition to cable products, Moskabelmet is ready to complete customer orders with everything necessary, including The MyFTA couplings of completely domestic production made by Rika Group.
