Presentation of the new automotive brand AURUS was held in Moscow on May 23, 2018. Participants included the Minister of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation Denis Manturov, as well as CEOs of PJSC Sollers and of AURUS LLC, Vadim Shvetsov and Gerhard Hilgert. The brand's philosophy and key values established by its founders were presented at the event.

Built as part of the Unified Modular Platform project by the State Scientific Centre NAMI under government order, the new series of motor vehicles is now entering the open market under its own brand name AURUS. The name is derived from two Latin words: 'aurum' and 'Russia'. The translation of 'aurum' is 'gold'.

'Our main achievement in the framework of the Unified Modular Platform project, which I now propose to call AURUS, is not the creation of automobiles as such, as many would expect to hear. It is much more important that this project helped us master new advanced technologies and competencies, which will become available for the whole automotive industry in the near future. AURUS is the symbol of a new era in the history of the national automotive industry. In turn, NAMI became an advanced engineering site for the entire automotive industry,' said Denis Manturov.

The Russian brand AURUS has a number of unique features, which include the option for clients to customise their automobile and technology for combining a 4-wheel drive and hybrid system. In addition, the owners will have the opportunity to take a training course in armoured automobile driving.
