With the support of the Government of the Kaliningrad Region, the site of the World Ocean Museum in Kaliningrad will host the exhibition and conference 'Small-sized and Lightweight Shipbuilding in Russia' (SLS Russia) from September 8 to 9, 2022. SLS Russia is a large-scale business event held to showcase and enhance the development potential of Russia's civil shipbuilding industry, including lightweight and small-sized vessels sought after on domestic and foreign waterways.
The Aluminium Association stands as a partner of the exhibition and conference SLS Russia. As part of the conference business programme, Aluminium Association expert Victor Ivanenko will go into detail on innovative materials and technologies for the national shipbuilding industry. The Aluminium Association runs an active Small Boat Construction section that brings together both producers of materials and semi-finished products as well as shipbuilders. One of the tasks the section aims to achieve is the development and implementation of innovative solutions (alloys, semi-finished products, technical standards and regulations) allowing the improvement of the technical characteristics of small-sized vessels made of aluminium alloys.
SLS Russia brings together member companies from industry clusters, major shipbuilding enterprises and research institutes. One of the key events of the rich business programme will feature the plenary session 'Small-sized and Lightweight Shipbuilding in Russia: Figures, Facts, Estimates, Forecasts' involving leading experts. Discussion sessions and round tables will also be held, where specialists will discuss new projects, innovative technologies, current problems and prospects of the industry's development.
