The Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Components LLC (KMC, a member of the aluminium Association) has produced 500 complex interiors for trams within the framework of its strategy for the development of the domestic market and high-tech industries. Each complex interior contains 280 unique aluminium assembly units, with a total of over 1000 parts.
KMC developed this project in cooperation with PC Transport Systems and with the support UC RUSAL. Since 2014, KMC has been producing complex interiors from RUSAL's aluminium, which are then installed in trams manufactured by PC TS.
RUSAL’s KraMZ and KrAZ plants supplied raw materials and semi-finished products from aluminium alloys for this joint project. In total, more than 15 production facilities of the Krasnoyarsk Territory (with a total number of more than 500 people), as well as other Russian and foreign partners have been engaged in the production chain.
Almost 13,500 cubic meters of materials were delivered for the assembly of 500 tram interiors to the Nevsky Electric Transport Plant in St. Petersburg. This included more than 120 thousand interior units - handrails, partitions, walls, ceiling panels, coin boxes, signs with itineraries, seat brackets and many other details,” says Vitaly Dengaev, General Director of Krasnoyarsk Machine-Building Components LLC.
Trams assembled from components made in Krasnoyarsk go along the routes of Kazan, Rostov-on-Don, Perm, Ulan-Ude, Ulyanovsk, Krasnodar, Tver, and Daugavpils (Latvia). Only in Moscow there are 375 Vityaz-M trams with aluminium interiors. The interior of the Vityaz-M tram weighs 3.5 tons. Of that, 1.7 tons is the weight of aluminium.
