Set of Rules No. 443 on Bridges with Aluminium Alloy Structures was included in the List of documents approved by Rosstandart .These design rules ensure compliance with the requirements of the Technical Regulation on the Safety of Buildings and Structures. The set of rules was developed by NRU MGSU on the initiative of the Aluminium Association and UC RUSAL and was adopted by the Russian Ministry of Construction in 2019.
Pursuant to the technical regulations, the safety of buildings and structures, as well as their safe design, construction, installation, commissioning, operation and demolition are achieved through the standards and sets of rules included in the relevant lists, or through project specific technical specifications.
Design, inspection and construction of aluminium bridges used to be quite complicated because of the need to develop project specific technical specifications for each designed bridge. This process inevitably increased the project costs and design time. However, with the approved List of documents with the Set of Rules 443, it became much easier to assess the conformity of aluminium bridges to the requirements of the Technical Regulation.
This resolution will facilitate the construction of modern, safe and environmentally friendly aluminium bridges in Russia. The lower costs for the construction and maintenance of bridges will result in savings for federal and regional budgets, which in line with the key objectives of various national projects, such as Safe and High-quality Roads and Comprehensive Plan for the Infrastructure Modernisation.
