Moscow, April 13. The aluminium alloys 8176 and 8030 will significantly decrease costs during the construction of civil and administrative buildings. Using new cables of 8176 aluminium alloy with a section of up to 16 mm will save RUB 5.6 mln during construction of a 27-storey residential building (38,000 m2) versus analogues which can be compared to two additional one-room flats in each constructed entrance hall, in addition to existing revenues. This fact was mentioned at the conference 'Innovative Aluminium Alloy Cables as a Tool to Decrease Construction Costs', where representatives of UC RUSAL, UNKOMTECH, Moskabel Facility, Electrocable Association, Kama Cable, Russian Association of Electrotechnical Companies (RAEC) and Glavstroy Group made their presentations.
The Ministry of Energy of the Russian Federation (Order No 968 dated October 16, 2017) approved new rules and permitted using new aluminium alloys in buildings for all cable sections. Advantages of 8*** aluminium alloy cables include resistance to bends and compliance of contact joints with requirements of GOST 10434 and 17441.
The conference was attended by representatives of the Moscow Urban-Planning Policy Department, developer companies such as PIK Group, Leader Development and the Glavstroy Group, producers of cable and conductor products, components and accessories including VAGO Contact Rus, LEGRAND, Schneider Electric, IEK, etc. The participants discussed the most important issues of using aluminium cables in residential construction and the relevancy of the regulatory framework. They mentioned positive changes achieved in producing and applying new cable product designs of aluminium alloy.
'The volume of housing under construction in Russia is more than 100 mln square metres. Applying aluminium in the wiring of residential and administrative buildings will decrease construction costs per square metre of housing without a loss of quality and will increase domestic aluminium consumption. The Aluminium Association will continue its efforts to inform all market players of the latest achievements in the domestic aluminium industry’, said Valentin Trishchenko, Chairman of the Aluminium Association.
