Moscow, July 23. The volume of the domestic market of aluminium cookware in Russia in 2018 amounted to 32 thousand tonnes of aluminium, which is comparable to figures of 2013 (32.8 thousand tonnes). The main factors of the market recovery are adaptation to the new level of product prices, as well as return of importers to the Russian market. By 2025, the market of aluminium cookware will continue to grow and reach 36 thousand tonnes. Such forecasts were given at the last meeting of the 'Consumer Goods' sector of the Aluminium Association.
At the meeting, it was noted that the competitors of domestic brands are importing companies that undergo mandatory conformity assessment of imported products in non-accredited laboratories. So, about 40% of the test reports for aluminium cookware were issued by the laboratories that do not have state accreditation, that is, the availability of the necessary equipment and specialists in such laboratories was not checked and not confirmed by any certificates.
'Today, all conditions are being created in Russia to increase the share of domestic manufacturers of cast and stamped aluminium cookware. Products of our companies completely correspond to the leading analogues, the respective state standards (GOSTs) for cookware have been updated. We expect that unfair suppliers of cookware will be forced out of the market and replaced by high-quality products of Russian brands that have passed all the necessary tests,' said Valentin Trishchenko, the Chairman of the Aluminium Association.
