Moscow, September 27. About 40% of declarations of conformity for cookware made of aluminium are issued with violations. Such conclusions were made on the basis of a comprehensive analysis of data for 2018–2019 conducted by the Aluminium Association.
More than 800 documents were examined, and it was found that about 40% of them had been issued on the basis of protocols of the laboratories not accredited in accordance with the established procedures, which is direct violation of the laws of the Russian Federation. The absence of full product testing increases the risk of unsafe products appearing on the Russian market.
As part of the fight against the spread of counterfeit products, the Aluminium Association sent information about the found violations to the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor) for taking administrative measures to protect the interests of the consumers and bona fide manufacturers. On the basis of the received materials, the St.Petersburg department of Rospotrebnadzor carried out unscheduled inspections, and administrative violation reports were issued with regard to three suppliers.
The replies from other territorial departments of Rospotrebnadzor concerning supervisory activities carried out in relation to suppliers of aluminium cookware are expected to come in the near future.
