The Aluminium Association has conducted surveys to assess the compliance of aluminium cookware

scrodown

Moscow, March 06. More than 80% of declarations of conformity for aluminium cookware were issued with violations of the mandatory requirements of regulatory documents. Such data was obtained based on the monitoring of conformity assessment activities for aluminium cookware conducted by the Aluminium Association. This was announced at the first meeting of the aluminium cookware compliance assessment subgroup created under the Public Council of the Federal Service for Accreditation within the working group on the activities of accredited parties in the field of conformity assessment for aluminium products.

The meeting was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia, the Federal Service for Accreditation, Rosstandart, TC 147 'Coated and uncoated metal cookware', certification bodies and testing laboratories, Transkonsalting LLC, Innovative Solutions LLC, Platinum LLC, KTS Expert LLC, Mertsis LLC, manufacturers and suppliers of cookware made of aluminium — NMP JSC, Landskrona LLC, Kukmorsky Metal Cookware Plant JSC, Aluminium Metallurg Rus JSC, Trading house 'Scovo' LLC, Eskadi LLC.

It was noted that inspection of 616 conformity declarations issued in 2018 for aluminium cookware revealed many violations: for example, about 40% of declarations were issued on the basis of reports from laboratories not accredited in accordance with the established procedure. Almost 50% of all conformity declarations for aluminium cookware were issued for products from China, while the number of declarations for stamped and cast aluminium cookware was almost equal.

The discussion of the inspection results led to decisions on submission of information on violations in the issuance of conformity declarations to supervisory bodies — the Federal Service for Accreditation and Rosstandart in order to take administrative actions, including product withdrawal and prosecution according to the Administrative Offences Code of the Russian Federation.

The Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia noted that cooperation with the Aluminium Association and implementation of the Action plan for the development of the aluminium industry approved by D. Kozak made it possible to prepare draft amendments to Decree No. 982 and submit them to the Russian Government. These amendments propose that the conformity declaration for stamped and cast aluminium cookware will be issued only on the basis of reports from accredited laboratories.
