Kazan, October 18. The Republic of Tatarstan plans to expand the application of aluminium products to implement new projects in construction. The advantages and key trends in the application of aluminium were discussed during the workshop organised by the Aluminium Association with the participation of the leaders of the Ministry of Construction, Architecture and Housing & Utility Services of Tatarstan, representatives of the executive committees of municipal districts and entities, design and construction organisations of Tatarstan, and industrial companies.
Every year, Russia constructs over 100 mln m2 of housing, but this level is 2-3-fold lower vs developed countries. The advantages of aluminium as a durable metal that requires almost no maintenance costs, its strength, flexibility, environmental friendliness and cost efficiency can become additional incentives for developers in the implementation of new projects. Moreover, Russian regions have already estimated the economic effect from the implementation of advanced developments, and due to the creation of domestic competencies and cooperation between Russian companies, the consumption of aluminium radiators, bridges, facade structures, windows, balcony sections and other structures is growing.
Therefore, projects of residential and civil construction, stimulating domestic consumption of aluminium, can act as a driver of growth for domestic high-tech industries, and, consequently, make a significant contribution to the socio-economic development of the regions and the country as a whole.
During the meeting, such members of the Association as GS-Reserve, TATPROF, Rosla, Saturn, etc. presented their projects and capabilities. The conference participants could also see the advantages of new 8xx series alloys for the cable industry.
'Aluminium has successfully proven itself in construction, and we note the need for to apply it in further projects,' — said Ilshat Gimaev, Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing & Utility Services of the Republic of Tatarstan, opening the meeting. According to him, the application of advanced materials and technologies made of aluminium will help to reduce the cost of work and increase the profitability of construction.
