Rosstandart has approved two new standards on “Translucent partitions with aluminium profiles” and “Aluminium-composite sheets for building cladding”, which will come into force on January 1st, 2021. The new standards were developed on the initiative and with the participation of experts from the Aluminium Technical Committee (TC#099) and members of the aluminium Association.
The development of national standards was driven by the need to address the growing demand for translucent partitions and aluminium-composite sheets in architecture and construction, as the lack of a regulatory framework and general requirements for this product impeded its application. Now, with the approval of new standards, the consumption of such products is expected to increase. In addition, the validity certificates are no longer required for the use of aluminium-composite sheets, which, among other things, will reduce the cost of products and expand their application.
GOST R 59043-2020 on “Translucent partitions with aluminium profiles: General requirements for materials and construction "(developed by Freestyle Technology within the framework of the TC#144 on Building materials and products) regulates the safety requirements for materials and parts of translucent partitions, in particular, aluminium profiles. Such partitions used in industrial, residential or public buildings, can be dismantled without any major repairs.
GOST R 59040-2020 on “Aluminium-composite sheets for building cladding: Specifications" (developed by Buildx within the framework of the TC#099) covers the use of aluminium-composite sheets for the manufacture of cladding elements for buildings. Aluminium-composite sheet is a multi-layer material with outer layers made of aluminium tape. This product is resistant to external impact, including extreme temperatures: it preserves its quality at temperatures between -50 ° C and +80 ° C. The new standard includes the classification of sheets, as well as requirements for dimensions (including the thickness of the aluminium tape) chemical composition, physical and mechanical properties, packaging, transportation and storage.
New national standards establish the product requirements in accordance with the current level of industry development and customer needs. In addition, they will accelerate the growth of demand for aluminium value-added products and expand the use of aluminium in the construction industry.
TECHNICAL COMMITTEE#099
The main goal of the Aluminium Technical Committee#099, established by the Aluminium Association, is to improve the efficiency of aluminium standardization, revise outdated standards for aluminium raw materials, aluminium alloys and aluminium-containing products, as well as remove existing regulatory barriers and restrictions on the use of aluminium in transport, energy, mechanical engineering, construction and other industries. The committee includes the largest aluminium companies - UC RUSAL, Krasnoyarsk Metallurgical Plant, Arkonik SMZ, UK UNKOMTECH, Alunext, Alukom, as well as scientific institutions, such as Standartinform , ILMiT , etc.
