Moscow, November 7. Prospects for creating facilities to produce high-quality decorative antistick coatings for aluminium tableware were discussed by players of the industry at a meeting of the Consumer Goods Sector of the Aluminium Association. It was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of the Russian Federation, UC RUSAL, Kukmor Metal Tableware Plant, AMR, Neva Metal Tableware, Skovo, GaloPolymer, Okto Trade RUS, and Anteg.
Currently, Russia has no own facilities to produce antistick coatings for needs of tableware manufacturers. GaloPolymer produces only fluoroplastic water suspension (75 tonnes per year) used as the key raw material to produce antistick coatings.
At present, the Russian aluminium tableware market capacity is around RUB 15 bln per year, while domestic companies produce around 8 mln units of aluminium tableware with antistick coating. In the next three years, the output is expected to increase, and it is planned to build new plants.
'The Russian production of aluminium tableware develops at a rapid pace, but antistick coatings for it are still imported. Therefore, the Aluminium Association will provide any assistance to projects intended to create new productions of both aluminium tableware and antistick coating for it,' noted Valentin Trishcheno, Chairman of the Aluminium Association.
