Moscow, March 4. On April 2-5, 2019, according to the initiative of the Aluminium Association, the I International Forum 'Aluminium in Architecture and Construction 2019' (AlumForum) will be held in Moscow. The organiser of the event is the Union of Architects of Russia with the support of relevant ministries, the Government of Moscow, R&D Center for Construction and the Russian Academy of Architecture and Construction Sciences. The general partner of the Forum is RUSAL. The Forum will be attended by heads of government agencies, business and public unions, leading Russian and foreign architects, developers and builders, manufacturers of aluminium structures and products. The Forum will be held as part of the 'RosBuild 2019' exhibition during the Russian Construction Week.
The events of the business programme are aimed at the exchange of best practices and the creation of new professional relations, with special attention to the discussion of the implementation of national projects in the field of construction and infrastructure, regional programmes for the use of aluminium alloy products in construction, housing & utility services, cultural, public health and sports facilities.
Hussam Chakouf, partner of Zaha Hadid Architects, Volker Giencke, the founder of Giencke & Company, and Fedor Bron, the associated partner of MVRDV, will arrive in Moscow to take part in the business programme. They will become participants of the business programme.
Hussam Chakouf is the co-author of the only Moscow building by Zaha Hadid Architects — Dominion Tower, as well as the Heydar Aliyev Cultural Centre in Baku and the Presidential Palace in Algeria. The architect will talk about the features of the 'smart city' concept and the principles of territorial development adopted by Zaha Hadid Architects. Hussam Chakouf's masterclass will be held on April 3, it starts at 16:00.
Austrian architect Volker Giencke is the founder of Giencke & Company Architects established in 1981 in Graz. Since 1992, Volker Giencke has been teaching as a professor of architecture at the University of Innsbruck, the Institute of Construction and Design.
MVRDV Architectural Bureau with Fedor Bron as its associated partner was established in 1991 in Rotterdam (Netherlands) and today is among TOP 10 best architectural bureaus in the world. Fedor Bron is currently supervising projects, such as the RED7 mixed-use complex in Moscow, Westerpark West in Amsterdam, Sax in Rotterdam and Radio Tower and Hotel in New York. He will deliver a lecture on new housing typology, versatility and bold solutions. The lecture will take place on April 2. It starts at 14:45.
As part of the Forum, for the first time in Russia, a contest 'Aluminium in Architecture' will be held demonstrating the capabilities of aluminium at the constructed facilities, as well as revealing the prospects for the use of this material in the projects under design. Participants of the contest will be Russian and foreign architects, designers, restorers, studios and workshops; design, manufacturing and construction organisations, investment and development companies, specialised universities and faculties.
