Moscow, January 15.The results of the wheel tests conducted in the laboratory of an Association member - LMZ SKAD - will be recognised at the international level. By the decision of Rosstandart, the plant's laboratory has received the right to test the wheels in accordance with UNECE-UN Rules No 124 ‘Uniform Provisions Concerning the Approval of Wheels for Passenger Cars and Their Trailers’ for the official approval of wheel types (accepted form of mandatory certification) under the Geneva Agreement of 1958.
Thus, based on the results of tests carried out in the laboratory of the plant, Rosstandart will issue international certificates on behalf of the Russian Federation to wheel producers, such certificates will be recognised in countries that joined the Geneva Agreement of 1958 (European countries, Turkey, and some other countries).
At the same time, the independence and impartiality of the tests will be ensured through appropriate monitoring and participation by Rosstandart.
‘The decision of Rosstandart is a confirmation of high competence of LMZ SKAD laboratory, its compliance with international rules and the possibilities for checking the quality of wheel disks. In addition, the appointment of LMZ SKAD as a technical service will help to avoid repeated similar tests abroad, which will help reduce the cost of certification for exported products and help to ensure that domestic goods enter new markets’, noted Mr Valentin Trishchenko, Head of the Aluminium Association.
