Isopan in conjunction with the Aluminium Association has begun industrial production of new three-layer sandwich panels for the domestic market of construction solutions. Production began at the company's manufacturing facility in the town of Volzhsky, with a production capacity of 3,000,000 m2 of panels per year.
The new product has a number of advantages over other types of wall panels. The low weight of the three-layer sandwich panels reduces the stress on load bearing structures and the foundation by a factor of two, making installation easier, and thus reducing total construction time. Due to their high corrosion resistance, the service life of the new panels is over 50 years, even in adverse conditions. The surface of the panels does not require any additional processing, allowing for the application of a broad range of paints, while meeting the strictest fire safety requirements.
As for the manufacturing process of making the aluminium sandwich panel, it is identical to that of steel coated sandwich panels.
Moreover, it should be noted that the new panels offer improved environmental friendliness. In addition to the possibility of being recycled multiple times, the panels are made of ALLOW brand aluminium, produced with a low carbon footprint. The new product will be very much in demand at properties operated under extreme climatic conditions, as well as at those that must meet strict environmental and hygienic requirements, such as food production facilities, cattle breeding stations, processing and pharmaceutical facilities. In addition, the aluminium sandwich panels can be used on the facades of public buildings: sports and recreation centres, clinics, schools. Some 20 companies from all over the country have already expressed interest in the new three-layer sandwich panels.
'At the moment, the domestic demand is estimated at 5,000 tonnes of rolled aluminium for the production of sandwich panels. At the same time, practically all these construction elements are being made from Russian rolled aluminium. The new production facility in the Volgograd Region will help not only with import substitution, but will also promote competition and the development of new products, ultimately boosting the country's industrial potential,' noted Dmitry Rachkov, Head of the Aluminium Association's Construction Sector.
