China, July 6. Representatives of around 30 Chinese companies and relevant associations participated in the road show of the technology valley project, which was organised in conjunction with the Aluminium Association with the aim to involve investors in developing aluminium reprocessing and creating new facilities around the existing production facilities in the Krasnoyarsk Territory, Khakassia, and Volgograd Region.
This is the first event of its kind to be held in China. The projects were presented both in Beijing and in Chinese major industrial districts focused on aluminium processing to industry leaders. This sector has shown real interest in the opportunities offered by the technology valleys created in Russia. Russian representatives mentioned that they planned to hold meetings with potential investors in Krasnoyarsk, Sayanogorsk, and Volgograd to demonstrate the advantages of the project and discuss its prospects with interested parties in more detail.
The technology valleys provide for creating new facilities to produce high value-added products in close proximity to aluminium smelters in Russia. The potential investment projects include: developing the production of rolled products, wheels, extrusions, and consumer goods, including sports items.
Previously, the technology valleys were presented at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum in April 2018. It was noted at the time that according to preliminary estimations, the technology valleys in Krasnoyarsk and Sayanogorsk would make it possible to increase domestic aluminium consumption by 140 ktpy and create over 1.2 thou.new jobs.
