Nashville, September 25. Representatives of the Aluminium Association participated in a meeting with the leaders of the aluminium associations from the United States, the European Union, Canada, Japan, Brazil and Australia, which was held in Nashville. During the meeting, the parties discussed joint actions to overcome the imbalance in the market of aluminium and aluminium products. In addition, an agreement was reached to strengthen cooperation in order to prevent unfair competition, which fully corresponds to the interests of the aluminium industry of Russia and other Eurasian Economic Union member states.
The meeting participants highlighted the role of Russian aluminium companies as bona fide players in the global market of aluminium. The efforts of aluminium associations in achieving the sustainable development goals, including by promoting the environmentally friendly properties of aluminium and aluminium-based products, have also been recognised as successful.
'Regular meetings of the heads of aluminium associations contribute to building trustful relationships, exchange of experience, as well as the development of a common position on the global agenda in the aluminium industry,' said Valentin Trishchenko, the Chairman of the Aluminium Association.
