Moscow, August 30. The Aluminium Association presented to the UN management a project for the production of portable aluminium helipads and aircraft runways.
The project was presented at a meeting with Alexander Neradko, the Head of the Federal Air Transport Agency, and Atul Khare, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Operational Support in the framework of the International Aviation and Space Salon 'MAKS-2019', which is taking place these days in Zhukovsky, the Moscow region. The parties discussed the possibility of using aluminium solutions for air transport support of UN missions.
Members of the Association: LPZ Segal and TEKHPROMIMPORT demonstrated exhibition samples of helipads located at the exposition of the Russian Helicopters Holding. Specialists of the companies told the participants about the technical features and advantages of their products.
Aluminium airfield plates made of 6061 and 6082 alloys allow creating runways and helipads in hard-to-reach and remote areas. They are much lighter than concrete analogues, can be transported in containers, assembled manually without any heavy special equipment and can be recycled after use.
A number of meetings with the Association's partners and various aerospace manufacturers are planned at MAKS 2019.
