Moscow, 1 March. The Aluminium Association took the initiative to standardise regulations regarding use of aluminium and aluminium alloys in construction. To do this, the tasks will be to create expert working groups led by managers of relevant companies. This decision was taken at the last meeting of the construction sector of the Association concerning ‘Educational systems of regulation in the construction sector’. Representatives from the companies ‘BMK Invest’, ‘TATPROF’, ‘KRAMZ’, ‘REALIT’, ‘AGRISOVGAZ’, RUSAL, ‘ALYUKOM’, ‘Alumintechno’ and others were present at the meeting.
The main task of the working group in the area of ‘Alloys and technology’, ‘Façade constructions and building envelopes’, ‘Building and engineering structures’, ‘Engineering materials’ and ‘Wall and roof materials’ will be generating proposals to introduce changes and updates to the current regulations in each of the areas where aluminium will be used. The Aluminium Association will coordinate this work, and all proposals will be studied in detail by Association experts, and collated into one single document. Given the growth of aluminium consumption in the construction sector and need for systemic solution of standardisation matters, this work will be coordinated with Technical Committee 465 ‘Construction’ and TC 144 ‘Construction materials (items) and structures’.
