Moscow, August 9 Localisation of the aluminium wheel production became a key issue at the meeting of the Aluminium Association with representatives of YueLing, a leading automobile wheel manufacturer in China. YueLing manufactures over 5.5 mln wheels per year. Its customers are 200 companies from 80 countries, including major Japanese automakers (for example, ISUZU). Before 2014, over 1 mln wheels were supplied to our country, while currently this indicator dropped to 400 thou. pieces.
As noted by Mr Valentin Trishchenko, Head of the Aluminium Association, Russia is currently creating three special economic zones (in Krasnoyarsk, Volgograd and Khakassia) that will be focused on development of the aluminium industry. 'Each of these technological valleys offers a number of advantages to its residents: the core of all economic zones will be availability of an aluminium smelter producing primary aluminium and benefits for electricity, taxation and importation of equipment. We invite you to join the project,' said Mr V. Trishchenko. The Chinese manufacturer, in its turn, informed of its interest in these projects and deeper processing of the offer.
Matters relating to improvement of the wheel certification and licensing system were also discussed at the meeting. Both parties expressed their interest in supply of high-quality products compliant with world standards to our country.
