It is noted that the Institute is established to introduce a better organisational and legal system for controlling the implementation of governmental policy in the area of standardisation.
The Government of Russia has approved the establishment of the National Standardisation Institute. This was announced on the official website of the Cabinet of Ministers.
'To introduce a better organisational and legal system to control implementation of governmental policy in the area of standardisation, a federal autonomous institution named the National Standardisation Institute will be established by uniting four state unitary enterprises subordinated to Rosstandart: the Russian Scientific and Engineering Centre of Information on Standardisation, Metrology and Conformity Assessment; the Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Material and Technology Standardisation; the Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Standardisation and Certification in Machinery Engineering; and the Russian Scientific and Research Institute of Defence Products and Technology Standardisation,' according to the announcement.
In this connection, these four entities are excluded from the list of entities planned for privatisation.
