For many years, a system of competition has been in place at VNIIKP in which leaders are defined at the end of each year on the basis of the management's assessment of department efficiency. The system includes a number of assessment criteria, such as economic indicators, assessment in the field of intellectual activity; activity of publication of scientific materials and presentations at various conferences, symposiums, and seminars; assessment of the efficiency of the quality management system, as well as the institute management's assessment of departments' scientific potential based on important work completed in the past year.
'In 2017, the leader in terms of all the above-mentioned indicators was the department for 'Cables, Wires and Fittings for Telecommunication and Computer Systems' (Department No 2). The second and third places were shared by the departments 'Quality Management, Regulatory Technical Documents and Intellectual Property' (Department No 5) and 'Work in the Governmental Order System' (Department No 6), which achieved success in their work. Other departments also fulfilled the assigned tasks and objectives - their work was recognised as positive and efficient,' said G. Meshchanov, CEO of VNIIKP OJSC.
2017 was a jubilee year for VNIIKP - the institute celebrated its 70th anniversary.
'We held several events dedicated to this date, starting with the Cable Congress in March 2017 and ending with a ceremonial meeting on 16 November 16 2017. I would also like to note that a conference for young specialists and scientists and the scientific and engineering conference 'VNIIKP - 70 Years at the Forefront of the Cable Industry' were held as part of the anniversary events. The results of 2017 and the headstart made for the year ahead provide us with assurance that we will successfully fulfil the tasks presented to us in 2018,' says Mr Meshchanov.
He also adds that financial indicators show that the coming year should be no worse than the last, and indeed maybe even better for VNIIKP. 'This is demonstrated by reports and plans for every division of the business,' states the CEO.
In general, the year of 2017 can be deemed successful and productive for VNIIKP, and the tasks set for 2018 are achievable.
