Moscow, September 27, 2017 - UC RUSAL (trade code at HKEx - 486, at Euronext - RUSAL/RUAL, at Moscow Exchange - RUAL), one of the world's largest aluminium producers, announces that it starts to receive applications for the volunteer projects contest "It is easy to help" The best initiatives will receive grants of up to RUB 50,000.
Socially-focused non-profit organisations, municipal institutions, educational institutions, as well as teams of initiative citizens and corporate volunteers are invited to participate. Receipt of applications will last until November 6 on a special electronic platform http://grants.fcsp.ru/
The projects should disclose innovative approaches to volunteerism in such areas as supporting socially vulnerable citizens, sponsoring social institutions, assisting pro-bono, and carrying out communication and training activities for volunteers.
"At the first stage of the contest in 2017, we supported 67 volunteer projects, while more than half of them were developed not by organisations, but by teams of initiative citizens and corporate volunteers. In their applications, activists offered affordable, and most importantly, effective tools for helping people: teaching the pupils at orphanages skills useful in everyday life, providing targeted assistance to veterans, conducting creative workshops and performances for children in hospitals, and much more. These results once again prove that it is really easy to help and each of us has the opportunity to change our city for the better and make people a little happier," said Vera Kurochkina, Deputy CEO of UC RUSAL.
Administration and organisational support of the programme is carried out by UC RUSAL's Social Programmes Centre (SPC). For more information on the competition, please visit http://www.fcsp.ru/.
