The Government Commission for Economic Development has expanded the list of strategic companies. In addition to the previously included members of the Aluminium Association, GAZ, NAMI, and Sespel Cheboksary Enterprise (representing respectively automotive and machinery industries) have been also included in the list.
To date, this list, approved by the Government Commission for Economic Development includes 519 companies in the sphere of competence of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Russia. These companies were selected from 25 industries, including power engineering, electrical and cable industries. Companies with such strategic status can apply for preferential loans for working capital and other support measures.
The first members of the Association included in the strategic list were: OSK, a number of cable manufacturers – Moskabelmet, Kamsky Kabel, Uncomtech Management Company, – Velomotors (bicycle and motorcycle manufacturer) and the Arnest Group (manufacturer of aerosols and household chemicals).
It is worth noting that the Aluminium Association took an active part in collecting data to develop requests to the government and executive authorities to include member companies in the strategic list.
