On July 4, new Technical Committee No 147 'Coated and Uncoated Metal Utensils' was established at Rosstandard. The head of AO Neva Metal Utensils Aleksandr Sheremetyev was appointed chair of the committee. The experience of running his own company and working in numerous public organizations specializing on the quality and culture of the production of aluminium utensils allowed Aleksandr Sheremetyev to initiate the creation of a technical committee for the standardization of quality and safety of this type of product.
One of the main jobs of the new body will be the creation of a national standardization program for this industry and subsequent monitoring of its implementation. The committee will also participate in the work of the international technical committee for standardization on issues of the quality of metal utensils with and without a coating.
In addition to the Saint Petersburg based AO Neva Metal Utensils, the committee also has representatives of companies based in the North-Western District, Pskov, Moscow, Rostov and Perm regions, the Republic of Tatarstan as well as public and consumer rights organisations, research institutes, associations of legal entities and representatives of universities offering degrees in the industry.
AO Neva Metal Utensils has been tasked with coordinating technical committee No 147.
