Moscow, 29 June 2017: UC RUSAL (the HKSE trading code 486, Eurnext RUSAL/RUAL, MSE RUAL/RUALR), one of the world's largest aluminium producers and MISIS R&D Institute, a leading Russian technology university, have entered into a science and technology cooperation agreement to develop new materials from aluminium and new aluminium processing technologies.
29 June 2017 the document was signed by UC RUSAL CEO Vladislav Soloviov and rector of MISIS R&D Institute Alevtina Chernikova.
The cooperation will be aimed at implementing the most relevant projects today and in the future to develop and introduce new aluminium based materials and new general industrial technologies. The plan is for the two parties to cooperate through the Institute of Light Materials and Technologies (ILMIT)
Under the agreement the parties are going to be cooperating in the following areas: aluminium alloys for use in high tech industries; additive fabrication technologies; metal-matrix aluminium composites; technologies for manufacturing aluminium based high capacity electric batteries.
"I am sure that the bilateral cooperation and the vast experience that our partners have in research and development we will be able to make a breakthrough in developing new domestically manufactured products, which will allow us in the future to expand the share of innovative products in the Russian market," - noted UC RUSAL CEO Vladislav Soloviov.
29 June also so the official opening of the Kinetics Prototype Engineering Centre of MISIS attended by the deputy prime minister of Russia Arkady Dvorkovich, the minister for trade and industry Denis Manturov and the minister for science and education Olga Vasilyeva.
