On December 21, 2018, CEO of the Prometey Central Scientific Research Institute of Structural Materials, Aleksey Oryschenko and provost of the M. Lomonosov Northern (Arctic) Federal University, Elena Kudryasheva, signed a research cooperation Agreement.
The goal of the Agreement is to integrate higher education and science by deepening and expanding cooperation on fundamental and applied research, and training highly qualified engineering and scientific personnel.
Taking into account that the Prometey Central Scientific Research Institute of Structural Materials is a leading material sciences organisation specialising in the development of materials and technologies for ship building and marine engineering, while the M. Lomonosov Northern Federal University is a leading research and education centre in the Russian North, the Agreement is expected to help design and engineer cutting edge solutions capable of operating in the challenging conditions of the Russian North, as well as train specialists in how to solve major scientific and technological problems in the interests of the development of industry and regional economy, including territories located in the Russian Arctic.
