On June 17, in Moscow in the premises of Kama Cable, a meeting devoted to development of cooperation between the domestic and foreign specialised scientific organisations took place.
The main topic of discussion was the integration of the potential of the Russian and Chinese scientific communities and businesses, as well as the presentation of the cooperation benefits for all parties. The main participants were Research Institute of Innovative Technologies in Power Engineering JSC (RI INNOTEL JSC), Shanghai Electric Cable Research Institute (SECRI), Perm National Research Polytechnic University (PNRPU), Dmitry Mendeleev University of Chemical Technology of Russia (UCT, Moscow), Lomonosov Institute of Fine Chemical Technology under Russian Technological University (MIREA, Moscow) and N. Yenikolopov Institute of Synthetic Polymeric Materials of Russian Academy of Sciences.
'Consolidation of scientific potential is the first and important step towards the development of fundamentally new, breakthrough designs, technologies and materials for the cable industry of the country. We set ourselves the goal of creating a Competence Centre of the Cable Industry, which will consolidate professionals in various fields of knowledge,' said Andrey Isachenko, the Deputy CEO of Kama Cable LLC.
Following the meeting, the participants decided to sign a Memorandum of Cooperation on R&D in the cable industry. Another important area of joint work was the development of new materials, which will involve scientific industry organisations with competencies in the field of applied chemistry. This is not only about polymers, but also about the whole range of materials used in the cable industry. New materials are one of the most important driving forces determining the development of all industries.
'This meeting gave an opportunity to establish cooperation with Chinese colleagues on the exchange of experience, the opportunity to participate in our events and educational activities, build a dialogue with business and train qualified personnel,' said Vladimir Korotaev, Vice-rector for Science and Innovation at PNRPU.
The meeting participants agreed to establish a world-class laboratory on the basis of PNRPU with the involvement of Chinese scientists.
