The world will no longer be the same – it becomes obvious as cities and entire countries lift the lockdown measures. How to manage office space, premises of restaurants and cafes, airport waiting and inspection areas? It seems that along with medical masks and gloves, the new reality will also include protective screens and disinfection chambers. R.O.S.L.A., a company from Naberezhnye Chelny, offers a range of such solutions based on anodized aluminium.
NEW GUIDELINES
During the corona crisis period, many businesses repurposed their production and started manufacturing safety products to protect form COVID-19. Famous fashion houses began to sew medical masks and respirators, and the beauty industry leaders focused on the production of aerosol disinfectors. Furniture manufacturers started developing the designs and arranging spaces in the context of pandemic-related restrictions – European countries started using partitions for open-plan office spaces and so-called “cocoons” for tables in restaurants and cafes.
Samples of such products are also available at the R.O.S.L.A. Group of Companies, a member of the Aluminium Association. The production capacity of the group is one thousand tons of anodized aluminium of all types: architectural, decorative and industrial. Thanks to its system of aluminium profiles, R.O.S.L.A. can produce any non-supporting structures - interiors and equipment for zoning spaces. In addition, Elite-Prof, another member of the group produces furniture from aluminium. It has various patents, certificates and licenses for manufacturing products for various applications, including medical sphere.
“Not only do we have products, but we also obtained all the necessary permits,” says Sergey Andreev, general director of R.O.S.L.A. – All the new products were designed by our companies. We have more than 20 years of experience. ”
Elita-Prof is currently testing an individual disinfection booth. Such equipment, resembling a scanner frame in the airport inspection area, is already well known in other countries. There is no such option so far in Russia, and when our military virologists returned from Italy, they were treated in the open air, right from the high-pressure sleeve. And the booth, designed in Naberezhnye Chelny provides disinfection treatment in a matter of seconds – one should just go through the gates from an aluminium profile.
By the way, there were no problems with testing the novelty at the plant. Although the companies of the group took all the necessary measures to protect the health of their employees, there were plenty of those who wanted to go through the disinfection booth.
RESTAURANTS AND HOTELS TO RESPOND
“We try to predict what products will be needed, states the general director of R.O.S.L.A. - We design and manufacture samples, test and modify our products.” The only thing to be done is to find the practical application for our innovations.
Unfortunately, there is nothing to boast about yet. To date, we have no orders for these designs. Actually, if you take a look at protective screens at the cash registers in stores and shopping centres, reception multi-functional centres, you will understand that these simple baffles are crafted from improvised materials.
However, it is no secret that Russia significantly lags behind world industrial leaders in terms of the aluminium consumption per capita. This rate is two times lower than the one of the developed European countries. However, the potential for growth is quite substantial.
“We forwarded letters to the Ministry of Health of Russia, the Federation and the Association of restaurateurs and hoteliers, but there is no feedback yet,” says Sergey Andreev. “I want to believe that our comprehensive offer will find its customer.”
In the meantime, R.O.S.L.A., like most other production companies, has to cope with shortage of orders while Europe is reopening offices, cafes and other establishments, now equipped with partitions and “cocoons” from aluminium profile.
