KRAMZ is the first and for the time being the only smelter in Russia to deploy an innovative aluminium processing technology developed by Germany's Henkel
In December the smelter deployed the Bonderite-2040 innovative aluminium processing technology developed by Germany's Henkel on its SAT-2 extrusion painting line. KRAMZ is the first and for the time being the only smelter in Russia to use this technology.
Previously, the painting area used a three-stage comprehensive aluminium processing technology prior to the drying and painting of the products. The new technology combines the several stages into one. It should be noted that the new technology is environmentally friendly as it reduces the number of chemical reagents used in the process and thus the amount of water that has to be treated after, the use of water was reduced by up to 70% as one tub was taken off-line. The tub that was previously used for conversion has now been put in reserve in case of emergency. This naturally also reduced energy consumption.
It was no accident that KRAMZ was elected to deploy Bonderite-2040. Seeing how the smelter is a leading supplier of metal extrusions in the market, its R&D technicians are alwasy on the look out for new technologies to test and deploy. There are only a handful of companies in Europe that have adopted the new technology utilising the innovative product.
