The European Tube Manufacturers Association (ETMA) has announced the winners of the annual Tube of the Year Competition. This year the best product in the aluminium tube category is the blue tube series aluminium tube manufactured by TUBEX (member of the Aluminium Association).
The company has won this award for the second time in a row – in 2019 the first prize also went to TUBEX. The 2020 winner tube was manufactured for a German company called Marmetube that produces fruit jams. The aluminium tube is made from 100% of recycled materials and has better CO2 footprint than the usual aluminium tubes. Being light and resilient, it preserves all the product's characteristics and provides protection against light, air, and other environmental factors, making the use of preservatives unnecessary.
TUBEX has ambitious plans and is reaching for new heights – its new blue tube evo is the first aluminium tube that enables the closed cycle and brings the end customer's waste product into back to production lines. This became possible when the share of recycled aluminium used during manufacturing reached 95%. The small mass of the tube and the fact that it can recover its shape can increase the efficiency of resource management, reduce the transport costs, and minimize the associated carbon footprint.
BACKGROUND INFORMATION
TUBEX has been manufacturing aluminium tubes for more than 70 years. The company's success is based on the use of modern technologies, scientific research, cutting-edge production equipment and highly skilled employees. The company's subsidiaries operate in Austria, Brazil, Germany, China, Russia, and Slovakia. The company's products are widely used in pharmaceutics, cosmetics, and chemical industries.
TUBEX Russia is a great example of Russian-German cooperation. In the beginning, there were only two production lines producing aluminium tubes. Today, 20 years later, the production has increased five times and the company is one of the leaders in its segment.
The company gives special focus to protecting the environment and adheres to closed-loop economy principles. A vivid example is represented by a series of environmentally safe aluminium tubes blue tube and blue tube evo, which comply with the strict requirements of the international standards regarding packaging and packaging-related waste. These tubes may be recycled an infinite number of times, and the specially designed aluminium alloy improves the quality of the product.
