Alexey Khakhunov graduated from SM7 in 2016. He started doing business at 20, is now only 24 and has his third company valued at USD 40 million.
Alexey launched his first startup R-SEPT right after graduating from the Bauman MSTU. He develops robotic milking stations for multiple cows and software based on artificial intelligence.
'I invested my savings from tutoring and stock market trading. We actually worked for the idea in that startup. We tried to pay employees RUB 20–30 thousand, but it was a negligible amount in comparison with the tasks they solved.
At R-SEPT, we started doing projects related to machine learning. Then we drew the attention of one large holding, it proposed to create a separate company that will deal only with machine learning for images. So, that was the start of Connectome. For almost a year we have been developing technologies in this area, then released the first product and implemented it.'
In 2017, Alexey together with his partner Dmitriy Matskevich founded the Dbrain platform, which helps businesses solve problems with the help of artificial intelligence. In April 2018, the company raised USD 3 million at a valuation of USD 15 million. This year, the partners launched Handl, a platform for data markup, inside Dbrain.
